Question: What do you love most about writing fiction?
What I love about writing fiction is the opportunity to make it my own. I am allowed complete creative control. My characters can be whoever I want them to be. Their stories can be outrageous or boring; it’s my choice. When writing fiction I sometimes like to let my characters do what they want and I end up with a completely different story than intended. Being able to explore my own creativity and essentially do what my heart desires in my writing is therapeutic. Writing fiction allows me to let my imagination take me to places I never thought I’d go!
Hi, my pen name is Katrice! I am a graduating senior from Virginia Commonwealth University’s BSW program. I am 24 and I didn’t start writing until I was about 21. I started to write fan-fiction for my favorite characters on my favorite tv shows; Glee, Pretty Little Liars, Star. Being a part of the LGBT community I decided to write what I didn’t see on TV. Writing is probably my number one passion. Aside from working, that is what I intend to do over the summer before being smacked with grad school assignments. Poetry was my first love, then I found fan-fiction and it became my favorite. Writing is my outlet and I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have it!
